Oil Conditioning Unit

Oil Conditioning Unit

The temperature of the lube oil or cooling water of an internal combustion engine has an influence on the engine's performance. The lube oil temperature has an influence on the friction losses and, to a less degree, on the exhaust gas composition. Therefore, test results, obtained on engine test beds, can only be reproduced and clearly interpreted, if the temperatures of the lubrication oil remain on a constant value or, if necessary, can be changed in a presupposed way. Depending on the engine's speed and load, the lube oil can be cooled or heated. The lube oil temperature and pressure controller are built in such a way that the oil quality is not influenced by high temperatures on the heating surface. Even at a change from cooling to heating the deviation of the oil temperature is very low. With well-tuned lube oil temperature and pressure controller the deviation from the selected oil temperature will not exceed 2 degrees K during dynamic engine testing. The device is suitable in a range from very small engines up to 600 kW engines
